COURSE ASSESSMENT
UNIT 1 is assessed by a 3-hour written examination in two parts. Part A comprises one compulsory, stimulus-based question worth 40 marks. Part B comprises eight compulsory short-answer questions. Candidate scripts are marked by external examiners appointed by BSC.
UNIT 2 is assessed by a 2.5-hour examination and an assignment based on an occupational health hazard in the candidate’s workplace. The examination comprises of ten compulsory short-answer questions. Candidate scripts are marked by external examiners appointed by BSC. The assignment is internally assessed by the course provider and externally marked by BSC.
UNIT 3 is assessed by an assignment involving an assessment of the health and safety culture in the candidate’s workplace, preparation of a strategy for improving that culture and a business case to support the strategy.
